what a wonderful world...

this weekend was great. with justin working at the fair, i find myself looking for things to do with all my free time! sooooo, i shopped online for vintage furniture items for our home (my secret obsession), jenni and i had fun making (and eating) homemade vanilla ice cream, and we celebrated a good friend's birthday by making her a cake. i came to realize that on saturday i did my first load of laundry since we've been married ....which makes my husband amazing! i also did maybe my second load of dishes, and my first time taking out the trash. i love my husband so much- he is so good to me and does so much without ever even complaining...which explains how i failed to notice how long it had been since i did housework. i am the luckiest girl in the whole world, and am married to the best man!!!!!!!

tonight jenni and i are headed to the fair! yay!

oh happy day

for those of you who don't have facebook...

.::6.27.08::.
our wedding was a phenomenal, indescribable day that goes beyond any measure of words. it was absolutely perfect. it was a beautiful sunny day leading up to the ceremony, and oddly enough, i was hoping for some rain (you know what they say about rain on your wedding day;) as our acoustic music started and the white chapel doors opened, a thunderstorm rolled in. my dad and i walked down the aisle to the rhythm of the thunderstorm. it was intensely intimate and romantic standing at the altar with justin, hearing the thunder & rain hit the open stained glass windows of the chapel, surrounded by candlelight. it was beyond breathtaking. our theme for the day was a vintage/old-fashioned feeling....and we tried to stick to that theme all the way down to every detail by handmaking as much as we could...the invites, programs, my hairpiece, our flowers, my veil, the centerpiece table cloths, etc. the guests enjoyed old fashioned rock candy favors, a cotton candy machine, and an old-fashioned photo booth. by the time our ceremony was over it had cleared up already...and then.........it was one heck of a party!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU to everyone who made our day so special!! we love you all!

a little inspiration...

"not all who wander are lost."...i read this quote today and i liked it a lot, because sometimes i like to wander! just thought it might bring a little inspiration to someone else too :)
last night i enjoyed dinner with my girls at bonfire. it's always fun to see them and catch up...and it's been a rather long week already so it was nice to be carefree for a few hours. this weekend has a ton of fun things coming. we always look forward to the weekends because there is always something going on not to miss with our crazy friends! tomorrow justin starts his yearly 2 weeks at the fair, so i will be relatively husband-less for the next few weeks (he works 12 hour days) but the paycheck at the end of the fair is always very nice...and sometimes it's nice to have some extra girlfriend time ;) he is looking forward to it though...and if you like footlong hotdogs, make sure to stop by his stand!!!

a case of the mondays!

after a fun and relaxing weekend, it's always hard to head into the office...even if you love your job! i felt that our blog needed a facelift so here it is...i was getting sick of looking at the old template so i attempted to make a new one.

we enjoyed the twins game and double date with my sister and her boyfriend. they are always good company and it made for a perfect friday night. it's funny to think that we started dating right around their age, back then we felt so old and now i realize how young we really were :) saturday jay and i put together our new tv stand (he put it together and I encouraged him!!) it was great to get that up and it looks really nice. we did a few other items in our house and then we went our seperate ways for part of the day. my mom had to get surgery on thursday so i spent the day at the hospital with her, and my grandparents came up for the weekend to help her while she can't be on her feet. we visited for awhile, and then my grandpa took me shopping. he can't resist spoiling me! we went to the grocery store for my mom, and then i searched and searched for the perfect running shoes. finally i got a pair of nike livestrong shoes, and the chip that you place in them that connects with your ipod. i am super excited to try it out! it records your time, distance, and calories burned. both are amazing.

sunday was a fun day for us...it usually is our date day because after a long weekend its fun to relax together and get things done. we ordered pizza and watched the olympics most of the day, and then we ran errands at night. we had a lot to get done and we accomplished it all. now, back to work....
